Well, yet again, I haven't written here in ages, and I do apologize for that. However, Ohayocon is next weekend in Columbus, Ohio, and I will be there! So it's definitely time for an update about that.

I have three new cosplays I will (hopefully) be premièring at Ohayocon - two of which I have been planning for a really, really long time, so I'm extremely excited to wear them. Admittedly, none of them are done yet, but I'm working really hard to finish them around my job x_x

Anyway, my three cosplays will be ::
Flynn Rider - Disney's Tangled
Han Solo - Star Wars (A New Hope version)
Connor Kenway - Assassin's Creed III

I don't know what order they will be worn in yet because I need to see the schedule first for the weekend, but they all three hopefully will be there...

I also will be helping out in a LOT of panels/workshops! I won't be running any myself this time, but if anyone is interested in meeting up, even just to say hello, the easiest way to find me is to come to any of these events -
Affording Lolita
Clash of the Animations
Learn Run Devil Run
Closet Cosplay
The Art of Moe
Dance Like Nobody's Watching
Vocaloid Dance Party
Para Para for Beginners

Um, I think that's all, but it's hard to remember them all x_x I will also be helping out with Lolita Crush on Saturday morning, though not hosting with the maid cafe this time, I'll just be in cosplay helping make tea and running the merchandise table.

But yes. If anyone would like to meet up at Ohayocon, that would be awesome; I don't think I've ever met anyone from dA before at a convention.
And of course, I'll be spending the entire weekend with :iconshanalikeanna: which is especially exciting.

Don't forget that SunnyCon is coming up in less than two months now, and I am so excited to be going back! I am also 90% sure I will be going to Tekkoshocon this year, hopefully for the entire weekend, but I'll just be a cosplaying con-goer. I'll know very last minute if I can make Katsucon this year, but I'll try to post an update if I do end up going.

Thanks for reading, sorry if this update wasn't exceptionally interesting =/

My Tumblr is always a much more exciting place to spend time - oujisama-yuki.tumblr.com

Okay. Admittedly I've been super horrible about updating this at all lately, and I don't have any excuse other than I spent most of my summer working hard on my dissertation; and when I wasn't doing my dissertation, I was playing Old Republic to FORGET my dissertation, heh. But so much has changed in my life since my last update on here, so I am going to try to make this short and sweet (which never seems to happen...)

COSPLAY // CONVENTION UPDATES

Well, since my last journal entry, I had a successful and awesome time at London MCM Expo, and attended both Manchester MCM Expo and Otakon, both of which were fantastic!! I also decided to jump on the Avengers bandwagon and make a Hawkeye // Clint Barton cosplay, as some of you may have seen evidence from in the pictures, in about six weeks, which was ridiculous of me, but I think it turned out as one of the best cosplays I have ever done. And the quiver, bow, and arrows are definitely the best props I have ever produced - apparently working quickly under stressed in the shared kitchen of a dorm room for four to six hours a night for two weeks is a good environment for making cosplays props. Yeah.

Anyway, I am having to limit my next cosplay plans a bit due to budget and time and lack of conventions, but I do intend to do about three more over the next year or so; but they're all secret at this time^^ I will tell you that one is another version of Kagamine Len (no surprise there) and that the other two do not come from anime or video games. But that's all I'm saying for now.

As for conventions - my next con will HOPEFULLY be New York Comic Con because I've wanted to go for years and was invited by a few friends, so money and work pending, I'll be there; then unlikely anything until hopefully Ohayocon in January, which I would really like to go back to, and since :iconshanalikeanna: lives in the area of it...yeah. I want to go with her. Back in the UK, I should be at Sunnycon in March as well again, because it was super awesome last year!! Again, money and work pending.

LIFE UPDATES

Due to a lot of changes in my personal life, I am going to be moving to the United States again on 10 September, so most of my fall/early spring plans revolving around the UK have all changed. While living in the US is certainly not my goal or my dream, it is temporarily my best option, and it does give me the chance to spend a few months with my American friends again.

Leaving the UK means leaving :iconthe-secret-uchiha:, but only temporarily thankfully as most of my money is going to go back into visiting her in March. So I'm trying to not be upset about that.

On a much happier note, my dissertation was submitted last week, so you're hopefully reading the words of a person with a Master of Letters in Peace and Conflict Studies from a very respectable university. I'll find out in October. And now I am taking the next step forward in my life and pursuing a dream I have had ever since I stared studying International Relations five years ago; I'm applying for the JET programme to move to Japan and work as an English teacher from next summer, and praying I can get accepted if that's the path God has chosen for me. All the doors are certainly opening in the right direction for it at least^^

So yes. UK (and a much needed trip to Paris) for the next week, then US for nine months or so, and then hopefully Japan^^

When I know more about cons and cosplays, I will try to remember to actually post here again, but until then...

Hellooooooooo^^

So, London MCM Expo is THIS WEEKEND. It felt like it was crazy far away, and now suddenly it's less than a week away, and my cosplays aren't finished - and I just found out a couple of days ago that both one of my panels AND one of my workshops have been accepted to run, so this is going to be a hectic week...

Anyway, yes! If you're interested in coming to see some of my stuff (which would be really awesome!) I will be doing...
COSPLAY 101 - 4.00 on Friday, during the pre-show
PARAPARAPARADISE - 1.00 on Sunday

Both will be in the Totally Cosplay area of the expo, which is sort of towards the back, but has huge signs so you can't miss it! Come by and at least tell me hello because I'd love to see people and all that stuff^^

As far as cosplays go, as long as I can get stuff done, I should be doing...
Friday - Tintin (Adventures of Tintin)
Saturday - Howl (Howl's Moving Castle)
Sunday - Jin Kisaragi (BlazBlue)

Hope to see some people there - should be an awesome weekend!!!! :D

----

On another entirely side note, I finally made a Tumblr if anyone is interested - it doesn't have a theme other than 'stuff Prince Yuki likes' so yeah^^
oujisama-yuki.tumblr.com/

Also, Dominic Sorel cosplay has been ordered officially, so the Otakon preparations are definitely in motion!

Okay, quick update first - didn't win the VOCALOID photo contest, but eh, I highly doubted I would. I never win popularity based stuff, heh. But thanks to everyone who voted for me, I really appreciate it^^

Secondly, next convention is LONDON MCM EXPO (25-27 May)
I WILL be doing some sort of panel or workshop there for Totally Cosplay - but they haven't told me which one out of what I offered they want yet, just that they definitely will take one. Will write a proper update about that when I know more
Tentative cosplay list for that is
Friday - Tintin (The Adventures of Tintin)
Saturday - Howl (Howl's Moving Castle)
Sunday - Jin Kisaragi (BlazBlue) or Hei (Darker than BLACK)

Other that that - been working on a serious group cover of Fantastic Baby by BIGBANG that will be on youtube sometime before London Expo.
Also have made tentative plans to be working on the Boss Death version of Kagamine Len. Aka, I need to start serious work on my stomach muscles, heh.

On an unrelated note - I finished my last actual day of class in my postgraduate program on Monday, so now it's just one more essay and my dissertation left between me and my Master of Letters!^^

-----------

1. Your first cosplay.
Roxas, Kingdom Hearts II (Twilight Town version)

2. How many costumes have you done?
I think....18 that I actually will lay claim to having done and that actually count as legitimate cosplays. Wow.

3. Your most recent cosplay.
Magane Len - VOCALOID 2 H-Type

4. Your cosplay communities, where do you go to talk about cosplay?
I only talk about it here, and sort of on youtube. I do lurk on cosplay.com, I just don't actually post anything.

5. Blatant self plug! Link us to your cosplay page, be it dA, ACP, Coscom, whatever!
You've got my dA page, yo.

6. Your favourite cosplay (that you have done)
Lavi - D.Gray-Man. Dream cosplay come true. Favourite character. Always get the best compliments when I'm wearing it.

7. The character you have cosplayed that is most similar to you (if none that you have cosplayed, then one that you will cosplay)
Definitely Lavi. I can see so much of myself in his personality, which makes the cosplay that much more personal.

8. Your cosplay plans for the rest of the year (if you have no more for this year, then do next year!)
I'll be premièring the following no matter what:
Karakuri 卍 Burst Kagamine Len - VOCALOID
Tuxedo Mask - Sailor Moon
Dominic Sorel - Eureka SeveN
Other than that. Han Juno from Eureka SeveN AO may be what I make for the pre-registration line at Otakon this year. I'll also probably be doing G Dragon from BIGBANG at a convention (looking more like him than I do on an average daily basis, wow) and working on Boss Death Kagamine Len at some point. No other real plans.

9. The dream cosplay that might just happen
Ling Yao - Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood

10. The dream cosplay that will never happen
Vaan Ratsbane - Final Fantasy XII

11. Something cosplay-related that you will never do (eg. crossplay, cosplay from a certain series)
Cosplay a female character.

12. Your cosplay idol.
:iconjiidragon:
Super fortunate to be his friend, and he inspires me with every outfit he does. And yes, they look just as good in real life as they do in the pictures.

13. Your cosplay specialty (ie. something that seems to apply to a large amount of your cosplays, it could be a specific series, or a common feature in their appearance, such as glasses)
Eyepatches! No seriously. Not only do I love cosplays that involve eyepatches, I'm always told I make them look good, haha. My favourite feature.

14. Your cosplay-making habits (eg. singing while working on cosplay)
When I make props, I like to imagine myself as the character they are for, making their own stuff. Helps me get into character and it's a lot of fun.

15. Your least favourite thing about cosplay
Stalkers. Creepers. People that touch without asking. That sort of thing.

16. Do you belong to any cosplay groups?  If so, what are they?
In real life, Cosplay Scotland. In the virtual world, tons and tons.

17. What events have you cosplayed to?
Lolz. Tekkoshocon, Otakon, Kurokiiro Festival, Sangawa Project, Colossalcon, Ohayocon, Chiisaicon, FanExpo Canada, London MCM Expo, Q-Con, Sunnycon, Dee-Con...I think that's all the conventions? As for just events in general - well, let's just go with a lot of random stuff.

18. What is your best cosplay memory?
Probably winning an award at KuroKiiro Festival with some of my best friends. In retrospect, our outfits weren't that amazing, but we were incredibly proud, and that moment is when I turned from a casual cosplayer into a serious one I'd say, heh.

19. What is your worst cosplay memory?
Breaking Yukianesea, Jin Kisaragi's sword, about two hours into the first time I ever wore the cosplay after working on it for at least six hours. And having the masquerade that evening, which I needed it for. Terrible, horrible moment.

20. Have you won any cosplay awards?
Yep, best altered/found outfit and 3rd place in a masquerade.

21. Show us your best cosplay derp photo!
I have a load of them, but this is my most recent one, and it's a pretty derp face for me.
i114.photobucket.com/albums/n2…

22. Have you worn cosplay in a regular situation? (eg. at school, to work)
Oh yes. I cosplayed at least twice that I can remember at my last job, and have cosplayed for various events at university (including shopping at TESCO, heh) and just generally hanging out at the mall and such.

23. Your most expensive cosplay
Probably Lavi - D.Gray-Man

24. Your most comfortable cosplay and most uncomfortable cosplay
Comfortable would be....Masaomi Kida - Durarara!!
Uncomfortable would be....Cloud Strife - FFVII Crisis Core

25. The cosplay you put the most effort into
Hmm. Definitely Magane Len - VOCALOID H-Type. So. Many. Little. Pieces. Not to even mention the wig and the make-up and the prop and yeah.

26. Any unfinished costumes?  Will you ever finish them?
Oh yes. Several. And yes, I will finish them. Hopefully before I start new ones.

27. How many wigs do you own? Which is your favourite?
Hahahahahahahaha. At least 12 that I can see from where I am sitting, but there are more in my parents' house and such. My favourite is definitely my Ciel Phantomhive one. I wear it a lot for regular life in general.

28. Where do you work on your cosplays and where do you store them when they're done?
I worked on them all over the house when I lived with my parents, and now either in my dorm room or in our shared kitchen area. I keep them in my closet - they take up 90% of the hanging space, so the rest of my clothes are folded whether they should be or not.

29. What is your favourite cosplay item? (eg. a pair of shoes, a wig)
Lavi's hammer from Jii, for sure.

30. Describe cosplay in three words.  No more, no less.
Expressive. Personal. Imaginative.

Hey guys! I just entered into a VOCALOID photo contest here on deviantART, and while I highly doubt I stand much of a chance in reality, I'd love to at least not get blown out of the water!!! xDD

So if everyone has a chance, could you please go to the deviant here -- miccostumes.deviantart.com/art… and either favourite it or leave a comment, as either count as a vote for me??

Thank you! I'd super appreciate it. I hate asking for votes like this, but yeah, it's probably the only way I really stand a chance to be honest, heh.

Thanks again everyone! :D
